Be Interruptible

Strong leaders are interruptible even when they're heads down doing something urgent or important.

Being interruptible [with a smile] does two things to strengthen your leadership position. First, it shows the other person how important they are to you. Second, it proves to others how competent you are because you can gracefully return to what you were originally doing and complete it as if you were never interrupted. A side benefit is that by getting away from your task or project enables you to return to it with fresh ideas.
